Farmers’ Market

For the third year of the Farmers' Market, the Garden welcomes local, sustainable farmers and producers to this public farmers' market on the first and third Sundays of the month, June 6 through October 17, 2010, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The market is free to Garden visitors and takes place just north of the Visitor Center. Visitors can purchase a special market bag from the Garden Shop to carry their purchases home.

The Winter Farmers' Market will be held the first and third Sundays of November and December.

The Garden and King's Hill Farm of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, have partnered to use the Garden as a pick-up location for the farm's Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) vegetable shares. Twice a month (once a month in November and December), CSA members will receive a box of organically grown, freshly picked produce grown at King's Hill Farm.

Full-Season Share $375 Ten biweekly Sunday deliveries beginning June 6 through October 17, 2010. Pick-up is at the Farmers' Market.
Summer Share $225 Six biweekly Sunday deliveries beginning August 1 through October 17, 2010. Pick-up is at the Farmers' Market.
Winter Share $120 Two monthly deliveries: Sunday, November 7, and Sunday, December 5, 2010. Pick-up is at the Farmers' Market.

  • Chicago Botanic Garden Green Youth Farm, Chicago Botanic Garden – organically grown vegetables, fresh herbs and honey, and tool sharpening.
  • Faith's Farm, Bonfield, IL – free-range, drug-free meats: beef, pork, turkey, and chicken; free-range, drug-free brown eggs.
  • Futters Nut Butters, Buffalo Grove, IL – all varieties of nut butters except peanut (chocolate walnut, cherry almond, chocolate turtle pecan, etc.), organic, natural, kosher, gluten and dairy free.
  • Golden Rise Bakery, Chicago, IL – organic, vegan, and specialty baked goods such as breads, baguettes, croissants, muffins, cookies, focaccia, pastries, and more.
  • H&H Flowers/Sunkissed Organics, LaPorte, IN – organically grown flowering shrubs, perennials, and annuals; heirloom vegetable plants and produce.
  • King's Hill Farm, Mineral Point, WI – organic vegetables, herbs, flowers, and eggs. Also partnering with the Garden as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) pick-up site.
  • Made from Mud, Mokena, IL – stoneware pottery, handmade dishes and vases.
  • Ooh La La Voila, Lake Forest, IL – locally made baked goods including cookies, muffins, and biscotti.
  • Oriana's Oriental Orchard, Winslow, IL – fruit trees, berry plants, herbs, gooseberries, watercress, Chine chives, and Asian pears.
  • Paul Friday Farms, Inc., Coloma, MI – peaches (Flamin' Fury Peaches), nectarines, plums, raspberries, blackberries, cherries, blueberries, apricots, apples, and cider.
  • Prairie Pure Cheese, Belvidere IL – artisan cheese including butterkase, cheddar, and Swiss varieties.
  • River Valley Ranch, Burlington, WI – fresh mushrooms, pickled mushrooms, pasta sauces, salsas, bruschettas, onion relish, etc.
  • Tomato Mountain Farm, Brooklyn, WI – certified organic salsas, preserves, pasta sauce, Bloody Mary mix, and seasonal tomatoes.
  • W&M Land Corp, Woodstock, IL – vegetable and flower starts, larger potted plants, and various produce.
  • Wind Ridge Herb Farm, Caledonia, IL – organic dried herbs, herbal teas, dips, seasonings, salad dressings, potpourri, bath herbs, etc.
  • Xanadu Forests Apiary, Lake Villa, IL – extracted, creamed, and comb honey, 100 percent beeswax candles, soaps, lip balms, 100 percent beeswax ornaments, and honey dippers.
